Provide leadership, support, and strategic direction for clinical laboratory information systems, connectivity, and supporting platforms
Responsibilities
- Lead technology execution and implementations for key clients ensuring seamless delivery of IT services
- Work with various development teams and product managers in the development and administration of the departmental budget and new enhancement requests
- Works together with software developers, business stakeholders, and supporting resources to plan and execute projects
- Foster strong client relationships and drive key technology solutions
- Act as primary liaison for strategic clients
- Manage escalations and monitor system performance with a proactive approach
- Delegates tasks to, organizes, mentors and motivates a team of developers, specialists, and connectivity resources
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement in all areas of technology and instills the principles of this culture
- Review of the product architectural design, requirements specifications, and test specifications
- Determine and/or approve estimates for development tasks
- Technical assessment of the impact of any changes to product requirements
- Provision of day-to-day technical guidance to other members of the project team
- Alert the Development Lead and Project Manager to any issues that may cause variance to the project schedule and require remedial action to be taken
- Highlight, review and mitigate technical risks
- Provide the project team with support and guidance on project specific processes, procedures, tools, and techniques
- Contribute to the continued improvement of the organization's development procedures by looking for opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions
- Resolution of technical issues in conjunction with team members
- Identification of technology training requirements
- Steward of process improvement initiatives
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's polices and applicable laws
- Responsible for interviewing potential candidates, hiring, training, oversight of daily activities and performance appraisals of his/her employees
Qualifications
Education Required:
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related field including MLT, MT
Required Technical Training & Professional Licensing:
- Minimum of 5 years of analyst experience including at least 1-2 years of project management or direct management related activities
- Desirable: Experience working within the medical laboratory industry, hospitals, or healthcare clinic environment
- Desirable: Experience with Six Sigma and/or CMMi principles and processes
- Preferred: Supervisory experience
Preferred Work Experience:
- Demonstrate how you've leveraged Customer Experience processes to act as an advocate for customers
- At least 5 years of experience working with Laboratory Information Systems or other related systems
- Experience in coaching, mentoring and/or training other team members
- Minimum 3 years of people leader experience

Travel:
- 10-20% domestic
