We are looking for Mainframe Developer for our client in Toronto, ON
Job Title: Mainframe Developer
Job Location: Toronto, ON
Job Type: Contract
Job Description:
  • The Mainframe Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting mainframe applications within the Card Domain (Issuing end).
  • The role involves managing the full software development lifecycle, providing technical solutions, ensuring code quality, supporting testing and deployment, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver robust, high-quality solutions.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • 6 8 years of strong Mainframe development experience.
  • Expertise in JCL, COBOL, VSAM, and DB2.
  • Good knowledge of Unix scripting.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of Card Domain and end-to-end Card lifecycle.
  • Provide support for fixing defects during the testing cycle.
  • Manage the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to mainframe applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and design technical solutions.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and technologies to recommend improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve software development processes and team productivity.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including functional and technical specifications.
  • Work with business analysts and QA teams to deliver successful projects.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
  • Optimize mainframe systems for performance and efficiency.
  • Participate in release management activities.
  • Provide guidance and support to other team members.
