Job Title: Mainframe Developer
Job Type: Contract
Job Description:
- The Mainframe Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting mainframe applications within the Card Domain (Issuing end).
- The role involves managing the full software development lifecycle, providing technical solutions, ensuring code quality, supporting testing and deployment, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver robust, high-quality solutions.
- 6 8 years of strong Mainframe development experience.
- Expertise in JCL, COBOL, VSAM, and DB2.
- Good knowledge of Unix scripting.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Strong understanding of Card Domain and end-to-end Card lifecycle.
- Provide support for fixing defects during the testing cycle.
- Manage the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to mainframe applications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and design technical solutions.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and technologies to recommend improvements.
- Identify opportunities to improve software development processes and team productivity.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including functional and technical specifications.
- Work with business analysts and QA teams to deliver successful projects.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
- Optimize mainframe systems for performance and efficiency.
- Participate in release management activities.
- Provide guidance and support to other team members.
- Mainframe development (COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM).
- Unix scripting and automation.
- Agile software development methodologies.
