Jr. SQL Server DBA

Blu Omega is seeking a Junior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to support critical federal missions. This contract provides operations, maintenance, and enhancement support for mission-critical enterprise applications. As a member of the database team, you will help ensure the reliability, performance, and security of SQL Server databases supporting these essential business functions. This role is 100% remote anywhere in the U.S. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and support SQL Server databases across systems including HR, finance, procurement, and logistics platforms.
• Perform routine operations and maintenance, including system health checks, storage monitoring, and job scheduling.
• Apply patches, hotfixes, and cumulative updates to meet security and compliance requirements
• Assist in the troubleshooting and resolution of database issues affecting business operations.
• Support data backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Monitor performance metrics and implement indexing, query tuning, and other optimizations as needed.
• Collaborate with application support teams to ensure efficient data access and integration.
• Document procedures and contribute to process improvement across database operations.

Required Qualifications:

• 2 3 years of experience managing Microsoft SQL Server databases in a production enterprise environment.
• Familiarity with enterprise support systems (e.g., HRIS, ERP, CRM, procurement tools).
• Proficiency in T-SQL, patch management, and job scheduling (e.g., SQL Server Agent).
• Knowledge of data security, backup strategies, and access controls.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain public trust clearance.
