Our client is looking for a SAP PS Consultant. This is a 12 plus months contract role. Please find below the details of the position.

Job Description

Position Title: SAP PS Consultant

Location: Chicago, IL Remote (Travel required Indiana, Ohio, Chicago)

Length: Contract W2

Responsibilities

• Solution Design & Development:
  • Design, develop, and implement robust and scalable SAP PS solutions using ABAP, ABAP Objects, BAPIs, BADIs, Enhancements, User Exits, and other relevant SAP technologies.
  • Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and develop efficient, high-quality code.
  • Lead technical design discussions and propose innovative solutions to meet evolving business needs.
• Module Expertise:
  • Possess deep functional understanding of SAP PS module, including project structures (WBS, Networks, Activities), budgeting, planning, scheduling, progress analysis, revenue recognition, settlement, and integration points with other modules (FI/CO, MM, SD, HR).
  • Provide technical guidance and support to functional consultants during solution design and implementation.
• System Integration & Support:
  • Develop and maintain interfaces between SAP PS and other internal/external systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis for complex technical issues, provide timely resolution, and implement preventive measures.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of existing SAP PS programs and processes.
• Testing & Documentation:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive unit, integration, and regression test plans for all developed solutions.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test scripts, and deployment guides.
• Collaboration & Leadership:
  • Collaborate effectively with functional consultants, business users, and other IT teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies, trends, and best practices, particularly in SAP S/4HANA.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development.
• At least 5+ years of dedicated experience as an SAP PS Developer, with strong technical and functional knowledge of the PS module.
• Proficiency in ABAP Objects, BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, Enhancements, and classical ABAP reporting.
• Experience with SAP NetWeaver technologies, including Web Dynpro ABAP, OData services, and Fiori/UI5 integration.
• Strong understanding of SAP PS data model and tables.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize complex SAP programs.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Project Systems.
• Knowledge of SAP Activate methodology.
• Experience with SAP Cloud Platform (SCP) or Business Technology Platform (BTP) for extensions.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• SAP certification in ABAP or Project Systems.
