Location: Birmingham, AL

Job Type: 12+ Month Contract

Salary Range: 25-30/HR
Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Drafter 2 with 2-5 years of drafting experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD drafting and a solid understanding of survey principles. This role involves creating detailed drawings for transmission line centerline right-of-way, boundary, topographic, and land tie surveys. The Drafter 2 will also be responsible for interpreting and writing "metes and bounds" or "centerline" descriptions for assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform CAD drafting for transmission line centerline right-of-way, boundary, topographic, and land tie surveys.
  • Interpret and write legal descriptions including "metes and bounds" and "centerline" formats.
  • Support survey field crews and office personnel by:
    • Researching existing survey and real estate records.
    • Contacting local and state agencies for right-of-way information.
    • Transmitting completed project documentation.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and other team members to ensure project success.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 2-5 years of drafting experience required.
  • Education: Associate's degree in Drafting and Design preferred.
  • Skills:
    • ?Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
    • Strong understanding of survey terminology and legal descriptions.
    • Excellent research and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with transmission line projects.
  • Familiarity with GIS tools and survey databases.
  • Knowledge of local and state right-of-way regulations.
