Duration: 6+ months with strong potential for extension

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid - Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays onsite)
About the Job

We are looking for a skilled and collaborative Software Engineer to join our team. You will work closely with architects, development leads, and product owners to design and implement scalable solutions, migrate legacy systems, and contribute to the development of high-quality software in an agile environment.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with architects, development leads, and product owners to understand business strategy and software requirements.
  • Decompose user stories, design features, and prioritize development tasks.
  • Migrate legacy functions to modern platforms in a collaborative agile setting.
  • Provide accurate development sizing estimates in partnership with scrum masters and product owners.
  • Utilize automated testing tools and frameworks to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Support system integration efforts by building cohesive systems from various subsystems.
  • Identify technology risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to team success by being accountable, offering support, and sharing best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6-8 years of experience in .NET web and service development using C#, .NET, .NET Core, ASP.NET, or other Microsoft technologies.
  • Experience with batch job processing and message queues (preferably RabbitMQ).
  • Proficiency in SQL, including stored procedures and CRUD operations.
  • Experience with non-relational databases (preferably MongoDB).
  • Hands-on experience developing and managing REST and SOAP-based APIs in transactional environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry, containers, or similar technologies.
  • 3-5 years of experience developing front-end applications using ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Backbone, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience working in agile/scrum teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in both production and non-production environments.
  • Ability to participate in architecture design sessions and communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams and functions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the financial services industry, particularly in retirement plan services.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools such as Selenium, Karma, Sparta, or similar frameworks.
