Job Details

As a Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Quality Management System (QMS) and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will collaborate with various departments to measure, identify, analyze, and resolve quality issues proactively. Your expertise in data analysis, problem-solving, and auditing will be essential in championing quality throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply strong knowledge of quality systems to develop and improve processes, ensuring compliance with internal, customer, and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Collaborate with design, process engineering, manufacturing, sales, customer service, and purchasing teams to address quality-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain quality control plans, incorporating statistical control, analysis, and reporting of results and trends.
  • Ensure conformity of purchased materials and components through an effective quality program.
  • Establish quality procedures and guidelines for new products in collaboration with the engineering team.
  • Review and enhance quality assurance procedures for existing products.
  • Maintain inspection criteria and documentation, including inspection reports and procedures.
  • Implement QA procedures during pre-production and production startup phases.
  • Work closely with production supervisors to communicate and uphold quality requirements.
  • Prepare reports and maintain pertinent records.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, HSED, or GED required.
  • Accredited 4-year bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field required.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in an ISO CNC and precision assembly environment.
  • 7+ years of experience in root cause analysis and problem-solving in a continuous improvement environment, particularly with metal materials and CNC machining.
  • Experience in performing internal audits and audit reporting.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal team members, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to write technical reports and business correspondence.
  • Advanced mathematics and statistics skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting precision measuring tools (CMM, Gauges, Calipers, Micrometers, etc.), blueprints, schematics, and precision principles such as GD&T.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledgeable in value stream mapping, root cause analysis, kaizen events, and process capabilities (CPK/CP).
