Job Details

Amentum is seeking a dynamic Targeting Plans Coordinator to identify, analyze, and articulate data requirements, arrangements and artifacts emphasizing a Component Command focal point with coordination across Echelons in the planning and operational execution of:

  • Integration requirements across the Services, Allies, and Partner Nations within the Indo-Pacific Joint Coalition Fires enterprise to achieve maximum effects against selected targets predominantly
  • Manned and Unmanned Aerial Platform Operations
  • Kinetic and Non-Kinetic Effects (NKE)
  • Specialized Military Information Support Operations (MISO)
  • Mitigation of Risk to Mission and Risk to Force
  • Management of AOC, MAAP and TET processes strongly desired

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Experience in developing and disseminating targeting products in support of Joint military operations;
  • Joint Targeting Course and/or Target Development Course;
  • Prioritizes, assesses, evaluates, and reports information obtained from passive and active collection, network evaluation and analysis, combined with related collateral sources to provide synthesized planning product to customers;
  • Reviews collateral and TS/SCI reporting to conduct research enhancing reporting from multiple sources to assist in the development of target products;
  • Support to the planning and operations staff to identify capabilities and limitations of enemy forces and identifying potential enemy vulnerabilities;
  • Develop targeting products and support and disseminate to as directed;
  • Assist in the development of lethal and non-lethal operations into the targeting process;
  • Provide input and develop targeting documents and related end products for development of all TTPs, CONOPs, policies and workflows;
  • Develop, recommend, and implement Operational Security (OPSEC) and signature management;
  • Reviews collateral and TS/SCI reporting to conduct research enhancing reporting from multiple sources to assist in the development of target products;
  • Develop, recommend, and implement Operational Security (OPSEC) and signature management; and
  • Author relevant data fusion-specific documentation, including reports, studies, and analyses, to advance the organization's data maturity.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with at least 10 years of experience, or Master's Degree with at least 5 years of experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD), including at least 3 years of experience in military operations
  • At least 3 years of experience working in military plans
  • Knowledge of the Indo-Asia-Pacific region
  • Knowledge of Joint Fires targeting, Intel processes, principles, and methods
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communications, organizational knowledge management using technology-based systems, operational assessment, intelligence collaboration, and joint planning and oversight process
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, and an ability to describe significance, provide
  • Advocate for the employment of the organization's data strategy in the Command's joint targeting coordination working groups and joint targeting coordination boards
  • Brief senior leadership (Flag/General Officer and Senior Executive Service level) periodically on status of data fusion program in support of the organization
  • Must have an active Top Secret clearance and be SCI eligible. Note: ship is required to obtain a Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Management of AOC, MAAP and TET processes strongly desired
  • 10 or more years of combined experience working in military operations on an operational staff or at the tactical maneuver unit level with a focus on non-kinetic and kinetic fires and/or targeting.
  • At least 10 years of experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD), including at least 5 years of experience in military operations
  • 5 years' experience working in the USINDOPACOM AOR
  • At least 3 years of experience in a senior military staff office (Service HQ, Combatant Command, OSD, JS) and/or working in military plans

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of the planning continuum to include the Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP), Joint Operating Concepts (JOC), and Joint Capabilities Areas (JCA)
  • Detailed knowledge of USINDOPACOM policy and strategy and a thorough understanding of USINDOPACOM TCP/TCO, Google Cloud Platforms, CT EXORD, OPLANs, CONPLANs, and Theater Security Cooperation Plans including linkages to parallel national interests
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. national plans and policy (National Security Strategy (NSS), National Military Strategy (NMS), Unified Command Plan (UCP), Guidance for Employment of the Force (GEF), and Joint Strategic Campaign Plan (JSCP)
  • Thorough understanding of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) to include mission analysis, course of action development, analysis, comparison, recommendation, and approval
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing in order to provide information, articles, written reports, and presentations to include delivering executive summaries to flag and general officers (FO/GO) and Senior Executive Service (SES) level officials.

The salary range for this position is $150K to $160K (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
