Terms of Employment:
W2 Contract, 12 Months (Possible Extension)
This position is 85% remote. The first two-to-three weeks will be onsite in Houston, TX (77079). Thereafter, it will be predominantly remote.

Overview & Responsibilities:
Work with a global leader in the industrial and energy technology sector! We are looking for a motivated and mature Business Analyst for an urgent 12-month contract. This is a fast-paced and intense role on the Order to Remittance (OTR) team, where you will be critical in ensuring the financial integrity of projects during the company's busiest time of year. In this position, you won't just be processing transactions you will be a key financial reviewer. You will collaborate closely with project managers, service managers, and finance teams to manage the entire financial lifecycle of project orders in SAP, from booking to closure. The ideal candidate is a proactive, analytical self-starter who can learn quickly and is ready to make an immediate impact. You will
Manage the full lifecycle of project and sales orders in SAP, including creation, updates, and timely closures.
Review and ensure accurate revenue recognition and cost adherence for all projects, updating key milestones in SAP.
Analyze and monitor project backlogs, orders, and overall financial health, identifying and reporting on variances.
Act as a key compliance checkpoint, reviewing billing requests to ensure all documentation and criteria are met before the billing team processes them.
Analyze project cost and contribution margin variances (e.g., negative or >5%) and collaborate with teams to correct errors.
Support service managers and finance teams in generating accurate revenue and cost forecasts in SAP.
Assist in resolving project-related customer invoice issues or disputes.
Support internal compliance activities, including SOX reports, audits, and tax-related requests.
Maintain and ensure the accuracy of Field Engineer time records.

Required Qualifications
2-5 years of experience in a Finance, Financial Analysis, or Order to Remittance (OTR) role.
Strong, hands-on knowledge of SAP (P31 is a plus).
Direct experience with revenue recognition, cost management, and/or order booking processes within an ERP system.
Excellent analytical skills and extremely high attention to detail, especially regarding financial data and compliance.
A stable work history demonstrating commitment to previous roles.
Proven ability to learn complex processes quickly and work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Bachelor's Degree (Note: A 4-year degree is a firm requirement for any potential future permanent conversion).
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
