Description
We are looking for a strong .NET Applications Developer in Southern California. This is a long-term contract opportunity and will need someone who can be onsite 4 days per week.
Job Details
Analyze and prioritize enhancement requests: Review backlog items and refine requirements with stakeholders.
Perform code reviews and testing: Validate .NET and SQL changes in development or QA environments.
Update and maintain documentation: Revise system design documents, workflows, and technical specs.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams: Align with developers, QA, and business units on project progress.
Monitor performance metrics: Identify trends or recurring issues and propose improvements.
Plan and execute deployments: Coordinate release schedules for application updates or patches.
Review and optimize database performance: Tune SQL queries, indexes, and assess storage utilization.
Prepare management reports: Summarize system performance, incident trends, and project status.
Evaluate upcoming business needs: Gather requirements for new projects or enhancements.
Requirements
Required Skills:
Proficiency in .NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core) for application development and maintenance.
Strong SQL skills: writing complex queries, stored procedures, performance tuning, and database design.
Experience in application maintenance and enhancement, including troubleshooting, debugging, and implementing new features.
Solid understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and experience working in Agile or hybrid environments.
Ability to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements, translating them into functional specifications.
Experience with system integration and API-based solutions (REST, SOAP).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for diagnosing issues and proposing effective solutions.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and QA teams.
Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, TFS) and deployment processes.
Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and modern DevOps practices.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Familiarity with Mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, and related tools.
Experience with job scheduling tools and batch processing.
Basic understanding of business process modeling and data flow diagrams
