Job Details

As a Senior Front End Developer on the ACE (Application Component Engine) Development Team, this position will be a critical contributor to a custom built Front End Framework and UI Platform Component Library. This framework is used by internal developers to create and enhance software applications that are part of the Tax.com platform. The Senior Front End Developer will work closely with other Devs along with UX, QA, PMs and Product Stakeholders. Best equipped candidates will be highly proficient in front end frameworks (e.g. angular, react), TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, CSS pre-processors and HTML. A typical day for an ACE Developer can expect front end work in the form of bug fixes, support tickets, new feature development and enhancements to the framework.

Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan's Key Results

People:
  • Interface with other teams within the Tax.com organization on framework enhancements, problem resolution and new UI component updates.
  • Maintains strong focus on customer service to all clients and assists with mentoring and training of junior members.

Value:
  • Develop software features per requirements and specifications using technologies such as Angular and Typescript.
  • Design and develop application architectures, drawing from a deep understanding of languages, algorithms, and design patterns.
  • Code, test, and debug application systems while maintaining source code control systems and application software versioning.
  • Evaluate business processes, make recommendations, and implement system design enhancements.
  • Document and define requirements for development, processes, and procedures in the Applications Development Area.
  • Experience building enterprise quality market facing products with professional user interface.
  • Adheres to Firm processes for change and configuration management, contributing to ongoing maintenance of audits and other security/compliance initiatives.


Education and Experience:

Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent related work experience. Six or more years of practical applications development experience in a programmer capacity.

Computer Skills:
  • Languages: Typescript, JavaScript (Front End / Node), HTML and CSS, C# is a plus.
  • Frameworks: Angular, Node/NPM ecosystem, .NET experience is a plus.
  • Extensive front end experience and knowledge of multi-tiered applications.
  • Experience with Visual Studio Code, Sublime, or like IDE/editors.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities but may assign tasks to junior team members at Manager's discretion.

Work Environment:
  • Standard indoor working environment.
  • Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.
  • Position requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the firm as well as interaction with external vendors and clients as necessary.
  • Independent travel requirement: up to 10%.


Compensation:
  • For certain California based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $128,000 - $175,560
  • For other California based locations, the base salary hiring range for this position is $118,000 - $160,930
  • For Colorado based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $112,000 - $153,670
  • For New York based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $128,000 - $175,560
  • For Washington based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $118,000 - $160,930
