Our Challenge:

We are looking for a talented and motivated Lead Java Developer with expertise in commercial lending applications to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and maintaining robust applications that support commercial lending processes, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to business needs. This role requires a strong understanding of Java programming, banking operations, and financial services.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.

In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA/ Dallas, TX is $110K-$120K /year & benefits (see below).

 

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications specifically for commercial lending, ensuring they meet functional and non-functional requirements.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate lending systems with other banking applications, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality.
  • Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following best practices and coding standards. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Database Management: Design and optimize database schemas and queries to support lending applications, ensuring data integrity and performance.
  • Testing: Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and performance tests to ensure application reliability and quality.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues and bugs reported by users or during testing, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation related to application design, development processes, and system configurations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business processes, and provide technical solutions.
  • Agile Participation: Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, contributing to the continuous improvement of the development process.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Java development, with a focus on financial services or commercial lending applications.
  • Java Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Java, including experience with frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, or Java EE.
  • Database Skills: Experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and proficiency in SQL.
  • API Development: Familiarity with RESTful and SOAP web services and experience in designing and consuming APIs.
  • Knowledge of Commercial Lending: Understanding of commercial lending processes, products, and regulations is highly desirable.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within teams and interact with stakeholders.

Preferred, but not required

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
