Job Description:
We are seeking highly skilled Embedded Test Engineers to join our Design Verification Testing (DVT) team supporting a major client in the Medical Device industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience in embedded software verification and a solid understanding of C/C++ programming, as well as White Box and Black Box testing methodologies. This is an onsite role based in Alameda, CA, and offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform manual embedded software verification and regression analysis in C/C++, working closely with custom hardware designs.
Design, review, and update test protocols, ensuring compliance with medical device standards.
Execute white box and black box testing, identifying defects, conducting root cause analysis, and contributing to resolution strategies.
Collaborate with development and QA teams to understand system and software architecture for effective test planning.
Handle and operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, DMMs, and power supply units.
Analyze communication protocols including UART, SPI, I2C, BLE, NFC, USB, etc., and troubleshoot related issues.
Ensure documentation and testing align with regulatory standards and medical device lifecycle requirements.
Mandatory Skills:
Proficiency in C/C++ programming for test development and analysis.
Experience with White Box and Black Box testing.
Hands-on experience in embedded device software verification.
Familiarity with communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, BLE, etc.).
Experience with test equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, PSU, etc.).
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of Medical Quality Management Systems (MQMS) ISO 13485.
Knowledge of Risk Management ISO 14971.
Familiarity with Medical Device SDLC IEC 62304.
Experience working in regulated environments (Medical, Aerospace, Automotive).
