Job Description:

We are seeking highly skilled Embedded Test Engineers to join our Design Verification Testing (DVT) team supporting a major client in the Medical Device industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience in embedded software verification and a solid understanding of C/C++ programming, as well as White Box and Black Box testing methodologies. This is an onsite role based in Alameda, CA, and offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual embedded software verification and regression analysis in C/C++, working closely with custom hardware designs.

  • Design, review, and update test protocols, ensuring compliance with medical device standards.

  • Execute white box and black box testing, identifying defects, conducting root cause analysis, and contributing to resolution strategies.

  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to understand system and software architecture for effective test planning.

  • Handle and operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, DMMs, and power supply units.

  • Analyze communication protocols including UART, SPI, I2C, BLE, NFC, USB, etc., and troubleshoot related issues.

  • Ensure documentation and testing align with regulatory standards and medical device lifecycle requirements.


Mandatory Skills:

  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming for test development and analysis.

  • Experience with White Box and Black Box testing.

  • Hands-on experience in embedded device software verification.

  • Familiarity with communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, BLE, etc.).

  • Experience with test equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, PSU, etc.).

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Medical Quality Management Systems (MQMS) ISO 13485.

  • Knowledge of Risk Management ISO 14971.

  • Familiarity with Medical Device SDLC IEC 62304.

  • Experience working in regulated environments (Medical, Aerospace, Automotive).
