Project Engineer - 12+ Month Contract - Beaumont, TX
Location: Beaumont, TX (50% onsite at facility, 50% travel within 35 miles of Beaumont)
Employment Type: Contract (12+ Months)
Opportunity Overview:
iSphere is seeking a Project Engineer for a long-term contract supporting a major Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) facility in Beaumont, TX. The ideal candidate will bring extensive project engineering or project management experience within operating environments and be capable of managing multiple small capital and expense projects concurrently. This role will directly support facilities and operations readiness efforts at a brownfield import terminal.

Key Responsibilities:
Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE):

Champion site safety and environmental compliance throughout project lifecycles

Participate in site HSE audits, permit reviews, and safety inspections
Project Management:
-
Manage all phases of capital and expense projects including cost control, scheduling, scope definition, forecasting, and documentation

Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scopes and align deliverables with strategic goals

Develop cost and schedule estimates and assist in capital funding requests

Oversee bid package development, vendor selection, procurement coordination, and contract award
-
Interface directly with equipment and service vendors for specs, quotes, and follow-ups

Track project costs, progress, and contractor performance against baseline schedule and scope
Engineering Coordination:

Ensure compliance with industry codes, client specifications, and internal policies

Manage RFI responses, drawing reviews, change proposals, and document control
-
Coordinate contractor activities and interface with key functions including Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Turnaround Planning

Support commissioning and startup by collaborating with Expansion Project (GPX) team and local permit offices
Documentation & Closeout:

Develop project binders and mechanical completion packages

Ensure accurate as-built documentation is completed and turned over to Operations
Qualifications & Skills:
-
Bachelor s degree in engineering or technology required (10+ years industry experience) OR 15+ years of relevant industry experience without a degree

Proven project engineering/management experience in an operating facility environment
-
Strong background in mechanical/piping and/or instrumentation & controls preferred
-
Field commissioning and startup experience highly desirable
-
Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings, and flow diagrams

Familiarity with industry standards including ANSI B31.3, ASME Section VIII, and related ANSI, ASME, ASTM, API, IEC, NACE, NEC, and NFPA codes

Knowledge of permit-to-work systems and petrochemical safety practices

Experience in capital project cost estimation, scheduling, and vendor management

Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook)

Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of independence
