Job Title: Credit Card Technical Architect - Credit Card Technology Domains
Location: East Coast Preferred (Mount Laurel NJ, Charlotte NC, Portland ME, Jacksonville FL, Wilmington DE). Remote may be considered.

Objective
Our client, a Tier 1 bank, is seeking technical leaders to lead domain-specific transformations in the following areas:
1. Event-Driven Architecture
2. Data & Operational Data Store (ODS)
3. Rewards Systems
4. Payments Systems
These roles are critical to the organization's strategic shift from legacy batch-based systems to a modern, resilient, real-time technology ecosystem.

Ideal Candidate Profile
Highly Technical: Deep expertise in credit card systems, TSYS, payments, rewards, and data architecture.
Leadership-Oriented: Expected to own their domain, drive change, and influence enterprise architecture.
Hands-On: Must be capable of understanding and potentially writing or reviewing code.
Consultative: Able to collaborate effectively with engineers, business stakeholders, and executives.
Entrepreneurial: Comfortable operating with a startup mindset within a large enterprise environment.

Technology Landscape
Current State:
Batch-based, disjointed systems
Heavy reliance on TSYS for real-time data and rewards
Future State:
Transition to event-driven architecture using Kafka, IBM MQ, and Camunda
Build a local Operational Data Store (ODS) to reduce TSYS dependency and improve resilience
Enable real-time data streaming, AI integration, and regulatory compliance
Potential use of Oracle, MongoDB, and Snowflake
Middleware orchestration via Camunda to manage API transactions and lifecycle events

Domain-Specific Responsibilities
Event-Driven Architecture Lead
Architect real-time systems using Kafka and IBM MQ
Replace batch processes with event-driven workflows
Understand TSYS event roadmaps and lifecycle triggers
Data & ODS Lead
Build and manage a scalable, resilient Operational Data Store
Integrate batch and real-time data feeds
Enable AI, analytics, and regulatory reporting through local data access
Rewards Systems Lead
Redesign rewards infrastructure by integrating TSYS loyalty data into the ODS
Improve customer experience and front-end customization
Understand TSYS rewards architecture and orchestrate data flows
Payments Systems Lead
Modernize payment channels (lockbox, digital, real-time)
Deep understanding of TSYS payments APIs and compliance requirements
Drive transition to real-time payment notifications and processing

Engagement Model
Contract-to-Hire with long-term full-time conversion goal
Title: Practice Architect - reflects seniority and domain ownership
Location Preference: East Coast proximity to office hubs.
Time Zone: EST required

Required Skills & Experience
5-20+ years in the credit card domain (originations, marketing, adjudication, collections)
Expertise in TSYS systems, card regulations, and compliance
Strong technical experience in Java, Kafka, Camunda, Azure, and databases
Ability to align with solution architects and influence enterprise decisions
Experience building resilient systems and leading cross-functional teams
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100.00 - $110.00/hr.
