Position: Biomedical Data Engineer
Location: 15 Necco Street, Boston, MA 02210
Duration: 18 months

Position Overview
Client is seeking a Biomedical Data Engineer to support research and development across digital health technologies (DHTs). This role involves biomedical data integration, analysis, and engineering to advance product development and clinical research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior Biomedical Engineers to test digital health technologies and integrate biomedical data into advanced analytics platforms

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and workflows for biomedical datasets

  • Use Python and R for data wrangling, analysis, and visualization to support R&D initiatives

  • Apply biomedical engineering principles to solve signal processing, imaging, and physiological data challenges

  • Ensure data solutions are secure, scalable, and high quality

  • Perform exploratory data analysis and generate insights to guide product and clinical research

  • Stay current with emerging technologies in biomedical data engineering and analytics

  • Support in-house evaluation tests, including participant scheduling and monitoring

  • Manage lab space and equipment, including shipping and receiving of devices

  • Assist in data preparation and analysis for in-house evaluations and user acceptance tests (UATs)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field

  • Must be able to relocate to Boston, MA and work onsite/hybrid

  • Proficiency in Python and R with tools such as Pandas, NumPy, tidyverse, etc.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences

  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)

  • Understanding of biomedical signal processing and/or imaging technologies

  • Experience analyzing physiological signals (e.g., ECG, accelerometer, PPG)

  • Hands-on experience with wearable sensor experiments and human subjects

  • Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and data management tools

  • Experience in designing and managing ETL pipelines
