Job Title: Senior Data Architect (Risk Domain) Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid Day 1 Onsite, 5 Days/Week) Work Type: Hybrid Job Type: C2C
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to design and deliver a next-generation data platform supporting risk management operations for a leading financial services firm. This role is highly hands-on and requires strong expertise in data architecture, market risk, and front-office risk domains. You will architect scalable, secure, and resilient data solutions leveraging AWS, Snowflake, and Python while collaborating across front, middle, and back-office teams.
Must-Have Skills
- Proven expertise in data architecture, data engineering, and building large-scale data solutions.
- Strong Market Risk & Front-Office Risk domain knowledge, including derivatives, fixed income, equities, valuations, and yield curve analysis.
- Experience developing Market Risk Analytics Platforms and data solutions for risk engines.
Hands-on experience with:
- Snowflake (performance tuning, security best practices, cost optimization)
- AWS ecosystem (S3, EC2, Lambda, Glue, IAM, networking)
- Python for data manipulation, pipeline development, and automation
- BI/Analytics: Sigma, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Deep understanding of financial services back-office operations (trade lifecycle, settlement risk, collateral, counterparty data).
Key Responsibilities
- Architect & Design: Lead end-to-end data architecture initiatives for Risk Management Back Office.
- Data Modeling & Pipelines: Build scalable data models and high-performance ingestion/transformation pipelines.
- Governance & Quality: Establish data governance, lineage, and quality frameworks.
- BI & Analytics: Develop optimized data marts and enable risk analytics dashboards/reports.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure data classification, access control, and regulatory compliance.
- Leadership: Mentor teams, set best practices, and drive technology innovation.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 10+ years of data architecture and engineering experience.
- Deep risk management and financial services domain expertise.
- Hands-on leader with a track record of delivering enterprise-grade, secure, and scalable data platforms.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
