Java AWS Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Jersey City, NJ that is seeking a Java AWS Engineer who is experienced with the tools of the trade including a variety of modern programming languages and frameworks. Are a creator, a doer, and a disruptor who will help us solve real-life problems and meet real customer needs? If so, you'll be helping us build things, taking an idea, and creating rapid prototypes that are shippable and learn from real-life feedback.

REQUIREMENTS:
* 6+ years of experience working with Java and Spring Boot is expected for this role
* Experience working with Apache Kafka applications is a must have
* Experience working with AWS managed solutions such as Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, EC2, CloudWatch, Route53, IAM roles/policies, etc., is preferred
* Passion for Automation Testing using frameworks like Cucumber
* Care about cycle time and use CI/CD practices, tools to rapidly deploy changes to customers while minimizing risk using practices like A/B tests, blue-green deployments, and feature toggles
* Strong communication skills and technical expertise to drive and participate in meaningful discussions
* Hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot & Web Development
* Hands-on experience working with Apache Kafka and Event Driven Applications that use Messaging solutions
* Hands-on experience in Restful APIs & Microservices particularly spring boot apps
* Hands-on experience in container-based development (Docker)
* Hands-on experience in Hibernate ORM/JDBC/Connection Pooling, etc., with relational database
* Experience in AWS EKS and AWS manages solutions such as Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, SQS, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM roles/polices, etc.
* Experience in implementing Micro services Architecture & building/deploying highly automated, scalable and maintainable infrastructure
* Knowledge on CD process and tools, testing frameworks and practices (preferably GitHub, Jenkins, Stash, Artifactory, Terraform, etc.)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
