The Product Cybersecurity Engineering team is looking for an Associate Director Product Cybersecurity Engineer, responsible for overseeing and enhancing the cybersecurity posture of our aerospace and defense products. This position involves establishing cybersecurity vision for the organization, contributing to cybersecurity roadmaps, developing and implementing cybersecurity strategies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and government regulations. The role requires a solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, product development processes, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to protect our products from current and future aviation cyber threats. The candidate will be expected to have fluency in the latest security trends, threats, and technologies and how they can be applied to the next-generation aircraft connectivity and communication solutions.

This is an onsite position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

What You Will Do:
  • Identify and develop enhancements to the Secure System Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) process
  • Ensure compliance to DO-326B/DO-356A Airworthiness Security/Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Influence Value Stream Leaders on inclusion of security technologies in strategic product roadmaps
  • Support and promote the advancement and adoption of Collins developed security technologies
  • Evaluate/contribute to technical proposals focused on product cybersecurity controls and capabilities
  • Participate in cybersecurity focused industry committees and working groups and convey status to the organization
  • Lead cybersecurity initiatives for the development of new technologies
  • Lead root cause investigations as needed and identify product and process root cause and corrective actions
  • Mentor and develop Product Cybersecurity engineers

Education & Experience You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Breadth in systems and software engineering principles focused on embedded Linux OS environment
  • Champions essential improvements in processes, tools, and technical solutions

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience collaborating with program architects to influence inclusion of new security technologies
  • Promoting/guiding architectural solutions with a defense-in-depth design
  • Analyzing problem reports and identifying root cause
  • Reviewing system and application vulnerability assessments and providing mitigations
  • Experience creating/reviewing project bids and pursuits
  • Analysis experience of SELinux policies for proper process isolation/separation
  • Experience with RTCA DO-326B / DO-356A and NIST RMF
  • Any industry recognized security certifications (OSCP, CISSP, CEH) are desirable

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
