Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Applications Engineer Automation to support customers, sales teams, and internal engineering groups with technical expertise on automation products and solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PLCs, automation controls, industrial communication protocols, and system integration. This role focuses on technical support, solution design, troubleshooting, and application development for automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to customers, distributors, and sales teams for automation products (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and control systems).

  • Develop application solutions, including PLC logic, HMI screens, system configurations, and communication setups.

  • Assist with product selection, sizing, and technical proposals based on customer requirements.

  • Support system integration efforts, including troubleshooting, commissioning, and field service when required.

  • Prepare technical documentation, application notes, wiring diagrams, and training materials.

  • Analyze customer needs and recommend automation products or solutions to improve system performance.

  • Deliver product demonstrations, training sessions, and hands-on workshops for customers and partners.

  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and manufacturing teams to resolve product issues and support new product development.

  • Provide feedback from the field to influence product improvements and feature enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.

  • 2 5 years of experience in automation, industrial controls, or applications engineering.

  • Experience with PLC/HMI programming tools (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, Mitsubishi, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of industrial control systems, VFDs, motion control, and safety systems.

  • Knowledge of communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet).

  • Ability to read and create electrical schematics and control drawings.

  • Strong problem-solving, customer service, and communication skills.

  • Ability to support occasional travel for customer visits and commissioning.
