Job Details
Position: Business Analyst Guidewire Billing Center
Location: Urbandale, IA
Duration: Long-term Contract
Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to capture, analyze, and document requirements for Guidewire BillingCenter implementations and enhancements.
- Gather requirements related to billing, payments, receivables, collections, write-offs, refunds, commissions, and disbursements.
- Work with SMEs, product owners, and developers to define billing workflows, business rules, and integration needs.
- Create and maintain requirement documentation, including BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and data mapping documents.
- Support configuration and integration of BillingCenter with PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and external systems (payment gateways, general ledger, reporting tools, etc.).
- Collaborate with QA teams to define test scenarios, validate functionality, and assist in UAT.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos, retrospectives).
- Provide subject matter expertise on P&C Insurance billing processes and ensure alignment with industry best practices.
- Assist with end-user training, deployment support, and change management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in business, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the P&C insurance domain with strong exposure to Guidewire BillingCenter.
- Strong understanding of billing processes: invoicing, payments, collections, commissions, reconciliation, and financial transactions.
- Hands-on experience in Agile methodology (Scrum/Kanban) and tools like JIRA, Confluence, Rally, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong documentation, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Guidewire BillingCenter Certification (Business Analyst or Specialist) is a plus.
- Experience with PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter integrations.
- Familiarity with accounting systems, ERP, or financial reporting tools.
Experience in data migration and API/web service integrations within Guidewire.
