Technical Designer (Hybrid - NYC)
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Hybrid - 4 days onsite per week
Contract: 3-month W2 contract (with potential for extension)
Pay Rate: $35-$43/hour (based on experience)

Are you ready to bring your technical design expertise to one of the most recognizable names in the intimates and lifestyle apparel industry without them even having to say their name?

Our client, a global leader in fashion-forward, high-performance intimate apparel and loungewear, is seeking a confident and proactive Technical Designer to join their NYC-based team. You ll be part of a dynamic technical design team supporting two of the most iconic and trendsetting product lines in the business. This is a rare opportunity to get involved at the product level and see your work on shelves (and bodies!) across the world.

What You ll Be Doing:

  • Support the technical design team across product development, especially in sleepwear, bras, shapewear, and loungewear.
  • Attend and lead live model fittings; measure, document, and communicate fit corrections to vendors clearly and efficiently.
  • Organize, prep, and manage daily fit samples and calendar updates.
  • Take detailed notes during fittings and cross-functional meetings.
  • Track workflow to ensure calendar milestones are met, identifying and flagging any risks early.
  • Collaborate closely with Design, Merchandising, Raw Materials, Sourcing, and QA to align technical specs with product intent.
  • Uphold brand standards by evaluating fit, construction, and performance.
  • Provide insights into patternmaking, grading, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Stay agile and adaptive business needs shift fast here, and we love problem-solvers who thrive in change.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 2-3 years of experience in technical design (preferably within intimates, sports bras, or shapewear).
  • Degree in Technical Design, Fashion Design, or a related discipline.
  • Strong organizational and note-taking skills.
  • Confident working in Outlook and Excel.
  • Proficiency in PLM systems; familiarity with 3D tools like Clo3D or Browzwear is a plus.
  • A proactive, flexible team player who communicates clearly and can run with tasks independently.
  • Not afraid to pivot comfortable adjusting to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Notes:

  • This is a high-visibility, hands-on role where your impact will be felt daily.
  • You ll be onsite 4 days a week in a beautiful NYC office, with occasional 5-day weeks depending on business needs.
  • Interviews will consist of 2 rounds with technical design leaders quick turnaround expected.
