Full Stack Java Engineer

Location: Remote

Description: Seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Java Engineer to support the LGY Development, Security, and Operations 2.0 program. The engineer will design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications, ensuring alignment with VA technical standards, security requirements, and contractual deliverables. This role requires strong experience in full stack development with emphasis on Java-based solutions, modern web frameworks, and cloud-based architectures.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement Java-based applications and full stack solutions in accordance with program requirements .
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and data integration services.
• Develop responsive, accessible, and secure front-end interfaces using modern frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, or Vue).
• Produce deliverables such as Requirement, Design, Process, and Interface Documents, Development Reports, and Development KPIs in compliance with program milestones.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and maintainable, following DevSecOps principles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Testing, Operations, Security) to ensure successful integration of applications into the LGY product line.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Address defects, implement enhancements, and provide ongoing system optimization.

Required Skill and Experience:

• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
• Experience with front-end frameworks (Angular, React, or Vue).
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and responsive UI design.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or VA Enterprise Cloud).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Experience developing applications for federal contracts or VA systems.
• Familiarity with VA Loan Guaranty (LGY) product line or similar enterprise-scale platforms.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (RMF, FedRAMP, Section 508).
• Strong experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience
• 2+ years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
