Job Details

Job Title: Aveva PI System Administrator
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, and support the Aveva PI (Shadow PI) infrastructure, including PI Data Archive, PI AF, and related components.

  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and data integrity.

  • Provide user support, including access management, data security, and issue resolution.

  • Develop and maintain PI system reports, dashboards, and visualizations for operational and business insights.

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and IT teams to gather requirements and implement data solutions.

  • Perform routine system health checks, upgrades, backups, and patches.

  • Support integration of PI with other applications, historians, and reporting platforms.

  • Document system configurations, standard operating procedures, and change management activities.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven hands-on experience with Aveva PI (formerly OSIsoft PI) system administration.

  • Strong understanding of PI components (PI Data Archive, PI AF, PI Vision, PI Interfaces, and Connectors).

  • Experience with system monitoring, data troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

  • Knowledge of reporting and visualization tools (e.g., PI Vision, Power BI, or similar).

  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments, networking fundamentals, and system security practices.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
