Job Description Summary
The Engineering Manager for Fan and Compressor Aerodynamics is a key leadership role within GE Aerospace, responsible for guiding a team of highly skilled aerodynamicists in the design and development of advanced compression system components for commercial turbomachinery engines. Based in the United States, this team drives innovation across the entire engine design lifecycle, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and efficiency. The Manager will lead cross-functional collaboration, oversee team resources and budgets, and ensure project milestones are met. Additionally, the role emphasizes talent development, continuous improvement, and operational excellence through GE Aerospace's proprietary FLIGHT DECK operating system. Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management: Inspire and lead the Fan and Compressor Aerodynamics team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and alignment with company and customer objectives.
  • Project and Resource Planning: Partner with cross-functional leaders to define project budgets, allocate resources, and establish milestones and timelines for technology and program plans.
  • Delivery and Execution: Ensure the team prioritizes tasks effectively, meets project deadlines, and delivers high-quality results to stakeholders.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and transparent communication with team members, leadership, customers, and related disciplines to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Talent Development: Champion talent growth initiatives, aligning team skills with product development needs and supporting career advancement opportunities.
  • Advocacy and Continuous Improvement: Uphold GE Aerospace's values of safety, quality, and equity while driving a lean culture through continuous improvement and the FLIGHT DECK operating system.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or STEM related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience within the turbomachinery aviation industry
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Desired Characteristics
  • Advanced degree in engineering, with a focus on compression aerodynamics.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in compression aerodynamics design or related functions.
  • Expertise in aerodynamic design, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and associated tools.
  • Proven experience leading aerodynamic design and technology development programs.
  • Familiarity with FLIGHT DECK or equivalent lean methodologies.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary, multi-site global teams.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
