Job Title: UCaaS Telecommunications Engineer (Microsoft Teams Phone)

Location: Arlington, VA (Hybrid Onsite support as required)

Duration: Up to 12 months

Position Overview

You will work closely with the UCaaS Program Manager and other project staff to deliver critical components of this migration, which includes integrating analog devices, decommissioning legacy infrastructure, and supporting voice services across various departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and support the Migration from Cisco Call Manager to Microsoft Teams Phone
  • Configure, deploy, test, and troubleshoot Microsoft Teams voice network infrastructure
  • Transition analog devices (e.g., fax, door buzzers, intercoms) using Audiocodes Teams gateways
  • Decommission legacy Cisco telephony equipment per County policy
  • Support ancillary voice services such as call queues, paging, and courtroom voice applications
  • Maintain and update Poly desk phones (firmware/software)
  • Provide operational support for MS Teams Phone during and post-migration
  • Develop and maintain documentation including network diagrams, SOPs, and implementation guides
  • Collaborate with vendors, Program Manager, and internal departments to drive project success
  • Recommend and implement voice service improvements as needed

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years in telecommunications: PSTN, PBX, VoIP, cloud voice services, SIP, circuits, dial plans
  • 10+ years in IT infrastructure: LAN, routing, switching, network security
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams Phone or similar UCaaS/CCaaS systems
  • Strong experience migrating from Cisco Call Manager to cloud-based voice systems
  • Experience with Audiocodes gateways and analog device integration
  • Proven ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with state, local, or federal government agencies
  • Familiarity with decommissioning procedures for public sector IT equipment

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered

Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory)

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Voice Engineer Expert
  • Audiocodes Certified Voice Professional (ACVP)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent
  • CompTIA Network+ or Security+
