Job Details
Job Title: Java Backend Developer (Mid & Senior Level) W2 Location: Hopkins, MN / Dallas, TX (Hybrid 3 Days Onsite, Relocation Accepted)
Duration: 12+ Months Contract (W2 Only)
Must-Have Skills:
- Java backend development with Spring Boot
- Microservices patterns: Singleton, Saga, CQRS
- Cloud deployment experience

Job Summary:
We are looking for experienced Java Backend Developers (Mid and Senior levels) to join the technology team at US Bank. Ideal candidates will have a strong command of Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and experience deploying applications in Kubernetes environments. This role is critical to delivering scalable, secure, and reliable enterprise solutions in a cloud-first environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot
- Architect and implement microservices using patterns like Singleton, Saga, and CQRS
- Build and deploy containerized applications in Kubernetes
- Integrate backend services with SQL/NoSQL databases
- Create and maintain RESTful APIs for internal and external consumption
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD processes
- Participate in code reviews and conduct unit/integration testing
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing support
- Work cross-functionally with frontend engineers, QA, and product teams
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years (Mid) / 8+ years (Senior) in backend development using Java & Spring Boot
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Practical experience with Singleton, Saga orchestration, or CQRS patterns
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration
- Familiar with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) is a strong plus
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments
