One of our clients in Brooklyn, is looking for a Senior EMS Engineer.

Title: Senior EMS Engineer

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Hourly: $70 - $75 per hour

Duration: 2 years

Work Authorization: USC/have minimally achieved the following experience:

• 5+ years of experience working with Python, Splunk SPL and JavaScript programming.
• 5+ years of experience working with UNIX, LINUX scripting.
• 5+ years of experience working with SQL syntax and experience writing database queries.
• 2+ years of experience working with networking protocols such as EIGRP, HTTP, SSH, SCP, SFTP, SNMP.
• Bachelor s degree in computer science or relevant industry/project experience.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Master s degree in computer science or relevant industry/project experience.
• Prior industry/project experience
• Must be a self-starter and be able to work well independently and in a team setting
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate in a credible and confident manner at all levels in the organization, especially on technical issues to a non-technical audience
• Detailed and process-oriented

Overview:

The Enterprise Management Systems team is responsible for providing monitoring capabilities to the network infrastructure that is utilized by the Client. This includes infrastructure that provides internet connectivity for all end-users located in central building locations. The EMS team's responsibilities also include creating and managing tools that allow for monitoring and support of critical applications.

This specialized role places a strong emphasis on expertise in Python, Splunk SPL and JavaScript programming.

The Senior EMS Engineer will be responsible for providing high-level support to all monitoring tools, programming, and scripting needs for reporting, internet connectivity, and database management.

The Client requires IT professional services to support day-to-day operational needs for critical business functions and objectives related to:

1. Data Center Resiliency: This project is a comprehensive initiative designed to fortify the availability and continuity of critical applications and essential business functions. The primary objective is to establish a robust and fail-safe infrastructure that minimizes downtime and ensures seamless operation even in the face of unforeseen disruptions or challenges.
2. Network and Application Availability: Provide monitoring services to critical applications and network environments. Early failure detection enables support teams to proactively triage and resolve issues with minimum downtime.
3. Bandwidth Management: Monitor bandwidth usage to identify locations that need bandwidth upgrades due to increased usage.
4. Network Infrastructure Management: Discover and track network equipment at Client locations to assist support engineers in troubleshooting and finance team with inventory reports.

Job Description:

• Maintains and enhances the Network Management Infrastructure (Splunk, Netscout, Nagios, Cacti,..) that provides support to all Client environments. Utilizes best design practices to ensure the operational availability of all networking infrastructures.
• Work with scripting and programming languages such as Python, or JavaScript
• Maintains familiarity with Angular JS or Sencha ExtJS Front End Development, JavaScript, HTML, JQuery, and Ajax.
• Serves as the technical resource for the network management environment and collaborates with the Client s Level 2 and 3 network engineers to resolve as well as isolate complex network-related compatibility, service, and project issues
• Develops, configures, deploys, and tests complex tools and toolsets, scripts, and related systems, and recommends, performs, and implements tool enhancement initiatives to support and improve existing processes.
• Interacts with all support teams to provide and develop technology planning, standards, and design for the Network Management Group responsible for the overall network architecture, technology deployment, and support processes for network management technologies
