Required Certification:
ACTIVE PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
Required Skills:
Progressive experience in IT project management, with at least 5+ years managing high-risk, high-budget IT projects (10 Years)
Proven exp with large-scale ERP, or financial software implementation projects with understanding of governmental (preferred) accounting practices (5 Years)
Expertise in PM methodologies: Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall, and hybrid models (3 Years)
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, ServiceNow, Planview) (5 Years)
Desired Skills:
Executive-level communication and negotiation skills. and Strong political acumen and ability to navigate state agency landscapes (3 Years)
High-level problem-solving and decision-making abilities (3 Years)

About the Role: Project Manager New ERP to Replace PeopleSoft Financials. Client is initiating a strategic effort to replace its legacy PeopleSoft Financial system with a modern Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution. To support this critical initiative, client is seeking a senior-level ERP Project Manager to lead the project from initiation through successful implementation. This initiative has been championed by client's Chief Financial Officer, who secured funding through an approved budget package and clearly outlined the limitations of the agency's current 24-year-old system. To ensure the successful delivery of this enterprise-scale modernization effort, we are seeking a highly experienced IT consultant to serve as the ERP Project Manager.
Responsibilities:
The selected professional will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle-including requirements gathering, planning, vendor coordination, execution, and go-live-while serving as the key point of coordination between internal business and technical teams and the external implementation partner
The ideal candidate will bring strategic leadership, deep ERP expertise, and a strong background in managing large-scale IT initiatives within the public sector
Experience with financial systems, cross-functional stakeholder engagement, and navigating government procurement and compliance requirements is essential to drive this mission-critical transformation to completion
***On site required: Two days a week required, but there may be weeks where more days onsite will be required (for example if an implementation vendor is onsite)***
