Contract Role
JOB DESCRIPTION
Analyze business needs and develop or procure technological solutions for the company (worldwide); procure budget, methods and implement solutions in alignment with departmental goals and cost effectiveness. Monitor and evaluate solutions, troubleshoot issues as necessary to ensure service quality and IT systems performance.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform analysis for data network planning, engineering, and design.
Collaborate with business groups to develop solutions that address current and future demands.
Create or upgrade network components to meet business growth and infrastructure requirements.
Prepare, set up, and implement projects as assigned by the project leader.
Manage project rollouts and sign off on vendor deliverables.
Collaborate with the PMO on project scope, tasks, and deliverables.
Develop Bill of Materials (BoM) and oversee projects from planning through execution.
Evaluate LAN/WAN hardware and software, recommending purchases and upgrades.
Develop and document standards for network architecture.
Coordinate integration of network solutions under the guidance of the Network Manager.
Utilize monitoring tools to ensure optimum system availability, identifying early warning signs.
Coordinate preventive maintenance and partner with vendors for recommended updates.
Troubleshoot issues with users and remote sites to minimize downtime.
Oversee the development of uniform operational procedures for LAN/WAN equipment and software.
Manage cloud-based and hybrid networks (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Oversee on-premises and cloud integration (e.g., Direct Connect, Transit Gateways).
Work on change management requests within Cloud and Data Center Managed Services.
Establish and maintain professional relationships with vendors.
Manage external resources to meet business needs efficiently.
Champion the creation and maintenance of comprehensive how-to guides, knowledge bases, and network topologies.
Ensure processes and best practices are clearly documented for departmental efficiency.
Lead the resolution of complex service provider issues with minimal disruption.
Schedule and monitor backups of critical systems to ensure availability in case of failure.
Manage global support for Zoom services, ensuring reliable collaboration tools.
Participate in the Network on-call schedule as required, providing managerial oversight to ensure effective coverage.
Perform additional job-related functions and responsibilities as assigned, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
DEGREE TYPE:
Bachelor's Degree
FIELD(S) OF STUDY:
Bachelor s degree in computer science, MIS or related field of study; or any equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training. Mid-level networking certifications strongly preferred
EXPERIENCE
5 - 7 years of experience with configuration and management of enterprise networking hardware including routers, switches, voice over IP telephony, wireless infrastructure, cloud services, firewalls, and internet proxy devices. Recent experience with network administration / configuration/ management related. Industry experience strongly preferred.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS
Demonstrated expertise in routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF) and switching technologies (spanning tree, trunking protocol, MPLS), with a deep understanding of Cisco proprietary protocols and networking standards.
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve network issues quickly in a high-pressure environment.
Proven ability to manage large-scale network infrastructure projects, meeting deadlines and deliverables while navigating resource constraints.
Ability to maintain current knowledge of routers, switches, VoIP, Cloud services, wireless, and security systems. Strong understanding of interconnection and interfacing between network hardware and software.
Capacity to work independently, multitask, and make sound decisions in a real-time environment to ensure network reliability.
Ability to conduct in-depth research on network issues, emerging technologies, and product innovations, and implement practical solutions to meet organizational goals.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to read, write, and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and equipment guides.
Excellent collaboration skills with a strong commitment to teamwork.
Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, show initiative in problem-solving, and collaborate across departments.
Ability to lift and install network hardware and equipment, within reasonable accommodation.
