Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator to support Operational Technology (OT) systems, including Distribution, Transmission, and Nuclear environments. This position plays a key role in maintaining high availability, performance, and data integrity across multiple database platforms.
The Senior DBA will design, implement, and manage enterprise-level database solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and compliance with business and regulatory requirements. This role provides the opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects and to support modernization initiatives across OT systems.
Key Responsibilities- Administer and support Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB databases across test, development, and production environments.
- Perform database builds, patching, performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
- Participate in on-call rotation (one week every four weeks) for 24x7 support.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to support major OT projects such as ADMS and SCADA upgrades.
- Implement automation and scripting (KornShell, PowerShell, etc.) to optimize database operations.
- Monitor proactive and reactive alerts through ServiceNow, resolving issues efficiently.
- Conduct capacity planning, documentation, and audits to maintain database integrity and compliance.
- Provide technical consultation on database architecture, data management, and integration best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field - or equivalent combination of education and experience (8+ years).
- 5 7 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator supporting enterprise environments.
- Proven expertise in Oracle and SQL Server administration, including backup/recovery, performance tuning, configuration, and patching.
- Experience managing PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB databases.
- Strong scripting skills in KornShell, PowerShell, or similar.
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and effectively manage competing priorities.
- Deep technical knowledge of:
- Oracle Database 12c, 19c, 21c
- SQL Server 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022
- Experience with:
- Oracle ASM, RAC, and Data Guard technologies
- SQL Server AlwaysOn Clustering, Replication, and SSIS packages
- Database version upgrades and migration strategies
- T-SQL, PL/SQL, Shell scripting, and PowerShell automation
- Experience supporting SCADA, nuclear, or other operational technology environments.
- Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft SQL Server DBA.

- Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite at the downtown Minneapolis office, 2 days remote.

- Standard business hours (Monday Friday, 40 hours/week).
- This is a contract position with potential for extension based on project needs and performance.
