Job Details

Description
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Microsoft 365 Engineer to manage and optimize our endpoint environment, ensuring seamless operation of all applications and software across our user base. This role requires deep expertise in the Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft 365, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and PowerShell scripting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining endpoint health, deploying and managing applications, and driving automation and efficiency across our digital workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Endpoint Management:
    • Administer and support Windows endpoints using Microsoft Intune, Configuration Manager, and other M365 tools.
    • Monitor and maintain endpoint performance, security, and compliance.
    • Manage device lifecycle including provisioning, patching, and retirement.
  • Application Oversight:
    • Deploy, update, and troubleshoot applications across the endpoint environment.
    • Ensure compatibility and performance of Microsoft 365 apps (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, etc.).
    • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve software-related issues.
  • Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD):
    • Configure and maintain AVD environments for remote users.
    • Optimize virtual desktop performance and user experience.
    • Implement security and access controls within AVD.
  • Automation & Scripting:
    • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation of routine tasks.
    • Create custom scripts for reporting, monitoring, and configuration management.
    • Document and share scripting best practices with the team.
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Enforce endpoint security policies and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
    • Support vulnerability management and remediation efforts.
    • Assist in audits and reporting related to endpoint and application environments.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing Microsoft 365 environments, including Intune and Endpoint Manager.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of Windows OS, device management, and application deployment.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, CIS).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
1. Provides technical support to maintain, monitor and troubleshoot technical systems, servers and storage underpinning clinical applications that provide critical patient care.
2. Participates in scheduled projects that require interaction between various customer, departments and hardware/software vendors. Leads small scale projects creating project plans, work schedules and critical timelines. Produces technical input for designs to complex processes for presentation to senior members of the team.
3. Generates needs assessment recommendations for the I.T. portion of customer departments through the appropriate investigation of specific customer/departmental computing and infrastructure needs.
4. Assists senior members of the Technology Infrastructure and Networks Services team in planning for growth, budgeting for new hardware, software, capacity demand forecasting, and scalability to ensure the organization's growth needs and service levels are met.
5. Interacts with the customer, from all areas of the laboratory, to research, develop and implement solutions resulting in a positive experience for the customer.
6. Writes and maintains custom automation scripts to increase system efficiency lowering the human intervention time on routine tasks. Provides technical information and input regarding current and future industry concepts, hardware, and software that pertains to all aspects of supporting the laboratory and other clinical needs.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
