Job Details

Title: Senior Systems Cloud Administrator (Hybrid Herndon, VA)

Location: Herndon, VA (Hybrid 3 days/week onsite required)
Employment Type: Contract (12-month minimum)
Clearance Requirement: U.S. Citizenship required (clearance or eligibility to obtain one)


Overview:
A leading IT operations team supporting a secure corporate environment is seeking a Senior Systems Cloud Administrator to manage, secure, and optimize a hybrid cloud infrastructure. This is a hands-on technical role with a team supporting Windows and Linux systems, cloud services, and enterprise tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain enterprise Windows-based cloud infrastructure (Azure)

  • Administer Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, GPO, firewalls)

  • Script and automate using PowerShell

  • Participate in patching, system updates, and vulnerability remediation

  • Troubleshoot system and application issues across Windows and Linux servers

  • Collaborate with a small team of infrastructure specialists (VMware, Citrix, Linux)

  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and best practices

  • Document technical workflows and implement change management practices


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise system or cloud administration

  • Advanced PowerShell scripting skills

  • Expertise with Microsoft Azure administration

  • Expert-level Windows system administration

  • Ability to work onsite in Herndon, VA at least 3 days/week

  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position (no exceptions)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Linux (SUSE, RedHat, or CentOS) experience

  • Familiarity with NIST 800-53 or similar compliance frameworks

  • Experience with SEIM tools, monitoring solutions, or enterprise backup systems

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-900, MCSE, Azure Architect)
