ArcGIS Geospatial Architect & Governance Lead Location: Austin, Texas (Onsite Only No Remote) Client: State of Texas Experience: Minimum 14+ Years
Job Description
We are seeking an ArcGIS Geospatial Architect & Governance Lead to design, implement, and govern enterprise GIS solutions for Medicaid and CHIP client and provider data analytics. The ideal candidate will bring deep ArcGIS expertise, geospatial data governance experience, and leadership skills to ensure compliance with organizational and public health objectives.
This is an onsite position in Austin, Texas. Only local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and govern ArcGIS-based geospatial solutions for healthcare mapping and analytics.
Develop and maintain geospatial data architectures, workflows, and metadata standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders for data integration and governance.
Oversee GIS datasets including demographic, socioeconomic, and health data.
Mentor and guide GIS analysts/developers on spatial analysis, visualization, and web mapping.
Establish/enforce data governance policies, quality assurance processes, and metadata standards.
Prepare technical reports, dashboards, and interactive web maps for leadership.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor s/Master s in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Public Health, or related field.
7+ years professional GIS experience, with 3+ years as Lead/Architect (cloud or enterprise GIS).
Expert in Esri ArcGIS (ArcGIS Pro Advanced, Database Management, Network Analyst).
5+ years with SQL Server Enterprise Geodatabases and ArcGIS tools.
5+ years with Python & SQL scripting.
Experience in geospatial governance, stakeholder engagement, and decision frameworks.
Strong knowledge of data management, metadata standards, and data quality.
Excellent stakeholder communication and technical writing skills.
Agile/Scrum environment experience (2+ years).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Medicaid, Public Health, or Social Services datasets.
GIS Certifications (Esri Enterprise System Design Professional, Esri ArcGIS Enterprise Admin, GISP).
Experience with GeoAI, Machine Learning, LLMs for geospatial data, and Snowflake Data Warehouses.
Custom web-based GIS application development.
