Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to join our team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of overall experience in data architecture, data modeling, and data governance. As a key member of our data management team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust data solutions to support business intelligence, analytics, and operational systems. This role requires a strong background in cloud technologies, database management, and data integration strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, high-performance data architectures to support business needs.

  • Develop and maintain enterprise data models and ensure data consistency across systems.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to define data requirements and solutions.

  • Establish data governance frameworks, data quality processes, and security measures.

  • Work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) to design and optimize data storage and processing.

  • Ensure data integration across multiple sources, including on-premise and cloud-based systems.

  • Optimize database performance, indexing, and partitioning strategies.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data architects and engineers.

  • Stay updated with emerging data technologies and best practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 15+ years of experience in data architecture, database design, and data management.

  • Strong expertise in relational (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.).

  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery).

  • Proficiency in ETL/ELT processes and tools such as Informatica, Talend, or Apache NiFi.

  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data lakes, and big data solutions.

  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks, including data cataloging, lineage, and compliance.

  • Strong understanding of data security, encryption, and privacy regulations.

  • Expertise in scripting languages like Python, SQL, and Scala.

  • Experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) is a plus.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics, Azure Data Engineer, or Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer.

  • Experience working in industries like oil & gas, healthcare, or finance is a plus.
