Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer with a strong focus on machine shop and fabrication processes to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing detailed labor estimations, cost analysis, Bills of Material, work instructions, routings, conducting root cause, corrective action of nonconformance to drive continuous improvement in our manufacturing operations. This role requires strong knowledge of Press brake, Waterjet, CNC machining, Welding, Robotic Welding, fabrication, assembly, CNC Programming and techniques, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. As manufacturing engineer, the candidate will provide process engineering expertise to the manufacturing team and related functions.

The job responsibilities will include:
  • Estimating labor by analyzing part drawings, specifications and manufacturing process required to produce fabricated parts and assemblies
  • Develop comprehensive work instructions and routings for machine shop and fabrication processes, ensuring clarity and adherence to drawings, specifications, and quality standards
  • Create and maintain documentation, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and process control plans
  • Conduct root cause analysis for manufacturing issues and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of manufacturing processes with product design and development
  • Provide technical guidance and training to production personnel on manufacturing processes, procedures and techniques
  • Drive the enhancement and troubleshooting of machining and fabrication processes, ensuring efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness
  • Support special projects related to process improvement, cost reduction, or new product introduction
  • Developing and testing of manufacturing processes and procedures, ensuring materials, products, and machines meet specifications and standards
  • Writing and providing input to technical papers or presentations. May deliver technical presentations
  • Adherence to stringent machine shop safety protocols

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years work experience or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in utilizing an ERP system to create routings, research components, assembly information, system reports and manage essential job-related data
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents
  • Ability to estimate machine shop labor requirements in accordance with drawings, specifications, and manufacturing procedures
  • Capable of building Bills of Material from drawings, specifications, and shop practices
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work successfully in cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and required skill sets
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced presentation skills
  • Fluency in using Microsoft Office suite of tools
Physical Environment:
Repetitive movement of hands and fingers (i.e., frequent computer use, typing and writing). Frequent sitting. Indoor office, machine shop environment and/or laboratory environment (potential exposure to hazardous chemicals, odors, hot/cold depending on location). Moving items of up to 50 lbs and lifting to a height of 3 to 4 feet is potentially required (frequency by exact position).

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $75510 - $128340

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
