Job Description:
Team Purpose

Key Responsibilities
- Design architecture encompassing software, hardware, and communications to support current and future requirements.
- Review, analyze, and create common queries and functions.
- Investigate data quality issues and develop engineering solutions to address misunderstandings.
- Maintain integrity and availability of shared data views and functions.
- Ensure systems comply with internal IT standards and integration requirements.
- Evaluate workflows and organizational processes to identify and implement corrective actions.
- Provide daily supervision and technical direction to team members.
- Apply metrics to improve code quality, stability, and adherence to best practices.
- Design and implement monitoring and alerting systems for critical production data environments.
- 10% Meetings
- 90% Individual Contributor Work (Heads-down coding and analysis)
- Role Type: Database Engineer or similar technical role
- Experience: 8+ years in software engineering or data engineering
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
- Work Location: Onsite only (due to access to specialized equipment and facilities)
- Remote Flexibility: Not available; fixed hours required
- Python: 8+ years
- Azure Synapse Analytics: 8+ years
- Kusto (KQL): 8+ years
- Experience with analytical and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Grafana, Dynamics 365)
- Work tracked via Agile sprints (2-week cycles)
- Tasks managed in ADO (Azure DevOps or similar)
- Evaluated based on quality of deliverables and ability to meet deadlines
- Opportunity to create innovative, data-driven solutions for complex and unconventional problems.
- Work with massive datasets-often billions of records per day.
- Contribute to the design of highly available, scalable, and reliable data services and pipelines.
