About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Architect to lead the design and development of a next-generation cash management and payment hub platform for a leading Wealth Management client. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise, a strong architectural mindset, and proven experience building scalable, secure, and high-performance payment platforms preferably using PortX or similar integration frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and design an enterprise-grade Payment Hub platform supporting complex cash management workflows and integrations with banking and fintech systems.
- Leverage PortX and other middleware solutions to enable seamless API-based integrations across financial systems.
- Drive end-to-end technical design, including microservices, API architecture, event-driven processing, and cloud deployment patterns.
- Collaborate closely with business, product, and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable architecture solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers, ensuring best practices in design, coding, and DevOps.
- Define and enforce architecture standards, security models, and performance benchmarks.
- Stay current with emerging technologies in payments, fintech, and wealth management domains to continuously evolve the platform.
Required Skills & Experience
- 12+ years of progressive experience in software architecture and development, preferably in financial services, banking, or fintech.
- Proven track record of architecting and implementing payment platforms or cash management systems.
- Hands-on expertise with PortX (or equivalent technologies such as Mulesoft, Apigee, or WSO2) for API and integration management.
- Strong knowledge of payment rails, settlement, reconciliation, and treasury systems.
- Solid experience with microservices architecture, API-first design, and cloud-native development (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
- Proficiency in .Net/Java / Scala / Spring Boot / Node.js or similar backend technologies.
- Experience with event streaming (Kafka), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent understanding of security, scalability, and resiliency principles for financial systems.
- Strong communication and leadership skills; able to work across cross-functional teams and influence architecture direction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with wealth management platforms or large-scale financial data ecosystems.
- Exposure to real-time payment systems, ISO 20022, or SWIFT messaging standards.
- Prior experience leading modernization or cloud transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and API governance frameworks.
