Job Title: Power BI Developer

Location: Atlanta, GA (Onsite 5 days per week)
Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to design, build, and maintain advanced data visualization solutions and dashboards. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI DAX functions, Power Query (M Language), and a solid understanding of ETL processes and data modeling (schemas). This role requires working onsite in Atlanta, GA, collaborating closely with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to transform raw data into meaningful business insights.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support business decision-making.
Build and optimize data models (Star and Snowflake Schemas) for efficient reporting and performance.
Develop complex DAX measures and calculations to meet business logic and analytical requirements.
Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using Power Query and other tools to integrate data from multiple sources.
Conduct data validation, data profiling, and data quality checks to ensure reporting accuracy and consistency.
Collaborate with business teams to analyze requirements and translate them into BI solutions.
Optimize report and dataset performance through proper modeling, indexing, and query optimization.
Implement and maintain row-level security (RLS) and role-based access in Power BI.
Integrate Power BI reports into SharePoint, Teams, and other business applications.
Provide end-user training and documentation for developed reports and dashboards.
Work closely with data engineers to align data pipelines and ensure smooth data flow between systems.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of hands-on experience as a Power BI Developer or BI Analyst.
Strong proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query (M Language).
Proven experience in data modeling, including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema design.
Solid understanding of ETL concepts and experience validating and transforming data for reporting.
Experience with SQL queries for data extraction, joins, and aggregations.
Experience working with large datasets and optimizing report performance.
Excellent understanding of data relationships, hierarchies, and dimensional modeling.
Ability to analyze complex business data requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work onsite and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
