Founding Startup Software Engineer

Focus Capital is looking for a rock star senior software engineer with extensive Python / JavaScript / Typescript experience to join our partner's startup technology firm. The firm is self-financed and also backed by one of the wealthiest people in the entire world (literally).

In this role you take ownership of designing and delivering and deliver software that integrates massive amounts of data points, automates AI-generated web applications and more. You will have influence on new product initiatives and use cases to integrate AI technology that serves our clients and you will have a direct impact in defining the company from both an engineering and culture perspective.

The firm is technology agnostic but has a preference to those who are strong in Golang and Python (or 'full stack' technologies like React or Typescript), and able to work in a cloud-heavy, data intensive environment, with a zeal for artificial intelligence and bleeding edge technologies.

You would be joining a rapidly growing and already successful company that operates as a startup despite having numerous customers and a strong financial backing. We will only accept candidates who are 100% hands-on and don t have any issues being tech'd out in the process.

The role is based in NYC and does require frequent onsite collaboration

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience programming in Python, Golang or TypeScript (must be willing to work with new technologies that emerge and are relevant to the stack scalability).
• Desire to work with machine learning tools
• Prior professional experience with cloud environments (i.e. AWS, Google Cloud Platform)
• SQL or SQLAlchemy experience is preferred.
• A bachelors or higher in computer science or a related field
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite in NYC.
