Amentum is currently seeking aSenior Linux Administratorto support an IT Managed Services program in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The overall program includes a 500+ work force performing Enterprise IT support, Service Desk, and Telecommunications support across multiple facilities and locations, for classified and unclassified telecommunications and information technology (IT) systems.
You will be a part of a team that provides computing capabilities and in-depth support for scientific and engineering applications. The team builds and maintains user environments, delivers subject matter expert support, and application-level software and tools to the scientific and engineering communities.

As a member of the team, you will:
- Perform Linux Administration duties.
- Perform installations and patching of Linux operating systems.
- Assist customers with the installation and updates of applications.
- Install software and troubleshoot software install issues.
- Monitor systems and preform hardware troubleshooting, tracking, resolution, and routine maintenance and security updates.
- Perform system backups and provide data recovery.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelors degree and 2 years of experience OR an Associates degree and 5 years of experience OR a High School degree and 8 years of experience OR equivalent.
- Related experience can be substituted for relevant education and vice versa.
- Must have an ACTIVE DOE Q or TOP SECRET clearance. Note: ship is required to obtain a TOP SECRET (TS) or DOE Q Clearance.
- Linux Server System Administration & UNIX experience at least 2 years
Desired:
- RHEL Satellite administration experience
- STIGS implementation experience
- Ability to research, assemble, and evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes and recommend sound, practical solutions to complex issues.
- Automation platforms such as Ansible, VMware, Python at least 1-3 years
- Experience in Bash, PowerShell, or other scripting language for automating System Admin tasks or troubleshooting existing processes
- Experience with container technology, such as Kubernetes, RKE, Docker, etc.
