THE WORK
As an Environmental Safety and Health Engineer (ESH) with Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS), your role is pivotal in ensuring a safe and environmentally responsible workplace. Your role will encompass leading RMS Enterprise ESH data analysis and trending, coordinating RMS ESH continuous improvement events, and collaborating on ESH Critical Risks/Safety Cardinal Rules implementation and alignment with the ESH Management System. You will also play a role in modeling and enhancing communication, interpersonal, presentation, technical and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
Trend ESH metrics and data, identify and validate opportunity areas, and align with RMS ESH strategy
Develop advanced Business Intelligence (BI) tools and reports (e.g., dashboards, AI, etc.)
Collaborate with site and ESH leadership to develop focused incident reduction plans and initiatives
Monitor and measure effectiveness of ESH compliance, tools, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), implementation plans, and trend analysis
Provide BI tool technical support and training to ESH and stakeholders (Production Operations, Engineering and Technology (E&T), Quality, etc.)
Ensure alignment with OneLM strategies and initiatives
Coordinate and lead RMS ESH Continuous Improvement Events including Structured Improvement Activities SIAs and Kaizen events
Track implementation of Continuous Improvement Event action items, communicate best practices, and monitor effectiveness of results and impact on ESH performance
Develop and implement ESH Critical Risks/Safety Cardinal Rules mitigation strategies and align with ESH Management system elements (Self-Assessment, Risk Assessment, ESH training, Inspections, Management Reviews, etc.)
Manage projects including the development of detailed plans and schedules, resource and budget requirements, program frameworks and deliverables, measurement, evaluation and communication

Basic Qualifications
Experience implementing OSHA, EPA and ESH standards, state and local regulations and programs
Experience with data visualization and Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Vizio)
Strong understanding in data visualization and methods for graphically presenting to multiple audiences
Experience implementing continuous improvement tools and techniques, evaluating effectiveness, and mitigating ESH risk
Ability to implement risk mitigation programs that align with ESH management system elements
Strong project management skills with proven ability to communicate effectively, collaborate, influence, and lead across multiple functions
Ability to work effectively and independently within a diverse population, collaborate with peers and leadership, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and be flexible
Capability to develop new and innovative methods to increase leader engagement and employee empowerment with ESH programs promoting a strong ESH culture
Ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate with a virtual team, meet deadlines and be flexible
Must be willing to travel up to 30%
Desired skills
Proficiency with utilizing traditional data analysis tools/ methods and advanced Lockheed Martin artificial intelligence (AI) tools
Professional ESH Certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc.)
Knowledge of and experience with ESH management system processes, such as ISO 14001/45001
Understanding of union environments and collective bargaining agreements
Demonstrated management experience and oversight of budget elements, including both overhead and capital expenditures
Experience in change management and planning activities as they relate to ESH integration and considerations
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt or other experience with continuous improvement tools and techniques, including thorough root cause analysis and mistake-proofing processes
Experience in a manufacturing or aerospace setting
Ability to effectively engage at multiple organizational levels
Demonstrated success at building relationships within a team (team leader or participant)
Energetic self-starter who seeks innovative solutions to ESH program issues and program deployment strategies

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $95,000 - $167,440. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
