Position Title: IBM Websphere Consultant
Location: Dearborn, MI - 4 days onsite

Position Description:
Administer and support IBM InfoSphere DataStage environments (development, test, staging, production): installs, upgrades, patching, configuration, and licensing. Architect, evaluate, and optimize deployment strategies for various complex enterprise platforms and applications across diverse Kubernetes environments (e.g., Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), performing in-depth engineering analysis to identify technical benefits, risks, and strategic advantages for the organization. Maintain Red Hat OpenShift clusters used for deployment of data services and pipelines: application deployment, scaling, resource quotas, operator lifecycle, and troubleshooting. Implement, operate, and troubleshoot Apache NiFi flows and NiFi clusters; manage templates, controllers, and provenance. Create, maintain, and improve automation and operational scripts (Bash, Python, or similar) for deployments, backups, monitoring, rollbacks, and routine maintenance. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for DataStage, NiFi templates, and containerized services. Monitor platform health and data pipelines; implement alerting, capacity planning, and performance tuning. Plan and execute backups, disaster recovery drills, and restore procedures for DataStage and NiFi artifacts. Enforce security best practices: secrets management, role-based access control, patching, vulnerability remediation, and audit logging. Troubleshoot incidents across integration stack, perform root cause analysis, and produce post-incident reports. Maintain accurate operational documentation, runbooks, playbooks, and run regular housekeeping tasks. Mentor junior admins/engineers and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver integration solutions

Experience Required:
5+ years of production systems administration and platform support experience (or equivalent). 3+ years administering IBM InfoSphere DataStage (installation, configuration, upgrade, job deployment, troubleshooting). Demonstrated engineering expertise in evaluating, designing, and implementing deployment architectures for a variety of complex data and application platforms. Red Hat OpenShift (cluster ops, deployments, operators, resource management). Apache NiFi (flow development ops, templates, clustering, provenance) (Preferred, not mandatory). Strong Linux system administration (RHEL/CentOS) and networking fundamentals. Proficiency with scripting and automation (Bash and one or more: Python, Perl). Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, or similar) and container workflows (Docker). Solid understanding of security practices for data platforms (RBAC, secrets management, TLS, patching). Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Experience Preferred:
Experience with DataStage on IBM Information Server / DataStage 11.x versions and Good Experience in CP4d is nice to have. Experience containerizing DataStage or integration workloads, or familiarity with hybrid DataStage deployments. Experience with enterprise backup and DR solutions for middleware. Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration, IBM DataStage certifications.
