Role: Cloud Ops Engineer (Azure Administrator)

Locations: Richmond, VA (Fully Onsite)

Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Note: Candidate needs to be in the office 5 Days every week. Local or candidates from Nearby states only.

Job Description:

• We are looking for an Azure production support L1, L2 & L3 support candidate who will be part of Cloud Operations & they must have experience with supporting IT teams that have footprint in Azure from a platform perspective and using Azure marketplace tools.
• Ideal candidates should support UK business hours and North American hours AM/PM (with some overlap) to ensure there is a resource available to support for Production issues.
• Azure Platform/ Infrastructure engineers offshore in Azure PROD Support Role.

Mandatory Skills:

• AZ-900 and AZ-104 certified. Additional Azure certs are helpful.
• Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills in Azure.
• Self-starter and be able to lead, facilitate and manage incidents on bridges (and handle calls) and be self-sufficient.
• Proficient in at least one scripting language that could be used to enable automation in Azure.
• Hands on and demonstrated working knowledge of Azure and Cloud engineering experience.
• Previously worked in an on-call environment supporting Infrastructure components in Azure.

Deep Azure Platform expertise:

• Deep knowledge of Azure services and architecture.
• Understanding of Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
• Working experience with Scripting Azure CLI Bash and PowerShell.
• Working experience with Terraform.
• Experience in Incident Management troubleshooting and Root cause Analysis on Azure using following: Azure Monitor Application, Insights Log, Analytics, Advanced troubleshooting skills.
• Azure Networking Experience: Configuring and Maintaining Virtual Networks Subnets, Network Security Groups, Azure Express Route and VPN configurations Load Balancers and Application Gateways Security.
• Working experience in Azure Active Directory Configuring Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
• Implementing Azure Key Vault, Implementing Security best practices and compliance standards.
• Experience with High Availability and Disaster Recovery like, Azure Site Recovery, Backup solutions Designing for resilience.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to and resolve production incidents and outages.
• Conduct root cause analysis for major incidents and implement preventive measures.
• Create/ Maintain Scripts: Bash and PowerShell to maintain the infrastructure. Create/ Maintain Terraform Scripts.
• Maintain and optimize Azure infrastructure for production environments.
• Monitor system health performance and security.
• Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Perform capacity planning and cost optimization.
• Automate routine tasks and create self-healing systems.
• Implement and maintain security controls and compliance measures.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve application performance and scalability.
• Manage and optimize Azure resources utilization.
• Stay updated with new Azure features and best practices.
• Manage and optimize costs through FinOps practices.
• Assist in the design and implementation of new Azure-based solutions.
• Document processes configurations and system architectures.
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge.
