Job Title: Mainframe Top Secret Security Administrator

Job Mode: Remote

Job Summary

• Serve as a subject-matter expert in Mainframe Top Secret (TSS) Security Administration to ensure data security, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation.
• Perform advanced systems administration supporting enterprise mainframe applications and infrastructure.
• Provide security, operational, and technical support for both legacy mainframe systems and modernization initiatives.
• Support day-to-day mainframe operations, security administration, and system maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary subject-matter expert for Mainframe Top Secret Security Administration.
• Maintain and enforce data security controls and compliance standards within mainframe environments.
• Perform senior-level z/OS systems administration, including configuration, maintenance, and break/fix support.
• Manage base user account creation, access provisioning, and security administration.
• Administer access controls, certificate renewals, TLS/SSL configurations, and cryptographic key management.
• Perform routine system administration functions including:
  • Security administration support
  • Performance monitoring
  • Security monitoring
  • System maintenance
• Support data entry and control work processes and coordinate daily mainframe operations.
• Collaborate with network administration, customer support, and application development teams to support day-to-day mainframe operations.
• Diagnose platform, software, and related product issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Provide technical support for production control and job scheduling operations.
• Support planning, implementation, testing, and deployment of system upgrades, releases, and changes.
• Provide end-user support for assigned Independent Software Vendor (ISV) products.
• Support mainframe transformation and modernization initiatives.
• Experience with Informatica PowerExchange Administration for Change Data Capture (CDC) using mainframe data sources is a plus.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Top Secret Security (TSS).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with z/OS Administration.
• 5+ years of experience with:
  • JES2
  • z/OS UNIX System Services (OMVS)
  • Storage Management Subsystem (SMS)
• 3+ years of experience with:
  • TLS/SSL configuration
  • Certificate management
  • RSA key management
  • Secure file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS)
• Strong experience diagnosing platform and software issues with root cause analysis.
• Experience supporting production control operations and job scheduling environments.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with REXX scripting.
• 3+ years of experience in mainframe performance monitoring and analysis.
• 3+ years of experience with Informatica PowerExchange Administration.
• Working knowledge of the following mainframe technologies and tools:
  • z/OS Operations
  • z/OS Networking (VTAM, TCP/IP)
  • Automated job scheduling and management software
  • Terminal Emulator software
  • VTAM session management tools
  • SMP/E
  • RMF
  • SMF
