Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced ETRM Business Analyst with strong functional and technical expertise in the Retail Energy Trading domain (Power and Gas). The candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end trade capture systems, enabling business change, and supporting the delivery lifecycle using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of trade capture systems.
Collaborate with business users to gather, document, and validate requirements (Epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and edge cases).
Conduct backlog grooming, sprint planning, and facilitate communication between development and QA teams.
Handle business change management and align stakeholder expectations.
Prepare comprehensive functional design, workflow documentation, and progress reports.
Support project tracking, triage deployment issues, and manage MVP demonstrations.
Coordinate with multiple teams, vendors, and consulting staff to ensure seamless project execution.
Apply thorough understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies in delivery management.
Ensure compliance with SDLC standards and maintain proactive communication with all stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of hands-on experience as a Business Analyst in Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM).
Strong proficiency in Oracle SQL and handling complex queries.
In-depth understanding of Retail Energy Trading for Power and Gas, including:
Deal Structuring & Pricing
Contracts & Forecasting
Invoicing & Settlements
Bid-to-Bill Management (ISO/RTO bids, awards, tags, etc.)
Customer Hedges & Broker Payments
Market Risk (VaR), Reference Data, ERP Integration
End-of-Month Accounting
Proven ability to deliver within Agile and Waterfall frameworks.
Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps across the software lifecycle.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
Interview & Work Details
Interview Process: Two rounds via Skype/Teams
Work Mode: Hybrid Minimum 3 days onsite per week
Onboarding: Candidate must be willing to report onsite in Houston, TX on Day 1
Local Candidates Preferred (Must be available for face-to-face interview)
