In this position...

This testing role will have a direct impact on the EV charging products our customers rely on to support their electrified fleets. EVSE testing and validation is developed and performed at Ford's state of the art vehicle electrification facility. We are continuously improving product validation to achieve industry leading EV charging reliability while advancing functionality that our core customers need and expect.

This position is an opportunity to deep dive into EV charging systems and technology. The testing and validation of Ford Pro EV charging products will be developed and performed at Ford's Allen Park art vehicle electrification facility in addition to multiple internal Ford sites in the Dearborn area. This position will directly impact the reliability and function of our EV's chargers that support both Ford and multi-make EV' along with our own cloud-based charger monitoring and management solution.

What you'll do...
  • Perform charging product hardware/firmware interoperability testing with EV's and our cloud control and monitoring platform.
  • Perform hands on setup, testing and validation of Ford Pro Charging products (hardware & system).
  • Development and documentation of Ford Pro Charging's product test requirements and procedures.
  • Document and communicate product test results and reports.
  • Drive development of test tool and fixture design requirements and operation.
  • Coordinate testing activities w/ Ford or 3rd party test labs as needed.
  • Coordinate first release testing of hardware and/or firmware updates prior to deployment to beta test sites.
  • Support evaluation of product failures analysis and root cause assessments.


You'll have...
  • BS or MS in Mechatronics, Electrical or Software Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience with data acquisition and automated testing tools and equipment.
  • 2+ years of test & validation professional experience.

Even better, you may have...
  • 3+ years experience with testing and validation of EVSE equipment.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of EVSE standards including UL 2231, UL 2594, SAE J1772, SAE J2953, ISO 15118, OCPP.
  • Experience with advanced EVSE Test Equipment and grid simulators.
  • Strong interest in helping grow electric vehicle technology and charging technology.
