Job Description

Impact: As an Onsite Field Service Engineer, you will coordinate all aspects of field service support and customer relationships You will provide comprehensive services on benchtop laboratory instrumentation systems, including installation, repairs, and preventive maintenance. You will be a customer advocate in laboratories and drive growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform on-site installation, repairs, and preventive maintenance of Multi Vendor (MVS) CAT I & II instrumentation, focusing on:
  • Chromatography (Cytiva AKTA FPLC, Agilent HPLC, Thermo HPLC/UPLC, Waters HPLC/UPLC)
  • Thermo Corona CAD
  • Cell Counters (Beckman ViCell XR)
  • Tabletop instruments (e.g., incubator, centrifuge, plate washer)
  • Additional assets as needed by the customer
  • Collaborate with ULS teams and Sales to ensure client satisfaction
  • Use customer management software for tracking service calls and managing parts inventories
  • Plan and manage time to complete monthly services and corrective actions on time
  • Inspect malfunctioning products and recommend repairs or replacements
  • Coordinate problem resolution with engineering and customer service teams
  • Analyze technical problems and provide solutions
  • Serve as a communication link between customers and the company
  • Conduct training on equipment operations for team members and customers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or technical degree and 4+ years field service experience; Bachelor's degree in sciences preferred
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as a Service Engineer or user of analytical instrumentation, particularly Chromatography
  • Experience with benchtop laboratory instrumentation systems

Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build good customer relationships
  • Ability to prioritize service requests and produce clear documentation
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 10%
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs with assistance and carry 25-30 lbs throughout the day
  • Ability to bend, squat, stretch, and reach daily
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record
  • Reliable attendance
