SUMMARY
Client is seeking a Junior Full Stack Developer to support federal cloud modernization and application development initiatives. The ideal candidate will work with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, Terraform, and JavaScript across platforms such as Google Apps Script, ServiceNow, and VMware vRA/vRO. This role offers hands-on experience with AWS and Azure environments, contributing to the design, development, and deployment of secure, scalable solutions. Candidates should be motivated to grow their skills while supporting mission-critical projects in a collaborative federal contracting environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position shall perform the following (to include but not limited to) activities:

- Participate in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions that support engineering and mission objectives.
- Work within CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment activities, ensuring consistent and reliable delivery of software updates across multiple environments.
- Leverage Git-based workflows to support version control and collaborative development, including:
- Migrating repositories and pipelines away from AWS CodeCommit as part of deprecation efforts.
- Integrating with GitLab for source control management, pipeline execution, and automated deployment strategies.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform to provision and manage AWS cloud resources.
- Develop and enhance front-end and back-end components using JavaScript, including but not limited to:
- Google JavaScript (Apps Script) for automating and extending Google Workspace environments.
- ServiceNow JavaScript for custom widgets, business rules, client scripts, and platform integrations.
- VMware vRA/vRO JavaScript for workflow automation, extensibility actions, and integration with enterprise infrastructure.
- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance specifications.
- Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features; debug existing software and correct defects.
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments, including AWS-based cloud environments.
- Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
- Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results.
- Utilize modern software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
- Work closely with end users and/or internal project teams to develop detailed technical requirements and specifications for software development activities.
- Contribute to architecture discussions and participate in code reviews to ensure maintainable, secure, and high-quality software solutions.
- Escalate issues to vendors and third-party entities, as necessary and directed by the Government.
Contract Required Qualifications:
- Public Trust Clearance or ability to obtain.
- ITIL v4 Foundation Training and Certification (may be obtained within 120 days after hire).
- Demonstrated ability to apply expertise across multiple complex work assignments, requiring originality, innovation, and independent problem-solving to determine and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to develop methodologies and present solutions with appreciable latitude, contributing directly to deliverables, performance metrics, and client success.
- Experience in the research, design, development, and testing of operating systems-level software, compilers, cloud/infrastructure components, and network distribution software, supporting diverse environments such as medical, industrial, military, aerospace, communications, and business systems.
- Proven ability to work independently in a full or hybrid remote environment with limited supervision, while also demonstrating the ability to supervise and/or lead other team members when required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with all levels of staff, stakeholders, and clients.
- Ability to maintain standard working hours in alignment with the DIGIT contract, and to remain available for meetings, collaborative sessions, and required client engagements during working hours.
- Demonstrated ability to apply comprehensive technical knowledge across high-impact assignments, using both formal training and practical experience to determine appropriate task execution.
- Proficiency with modern software engineering practices, including:
- CI/CD pipeline participation for build, test, and deployment automation.
- Version control with Git, including migration support for AWS CodeCommit deprecation and integration with GitLab for collaborative development.
- Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform to provision and manage AWS resources.
- JavaScript development across multiple platforms, including Google Apps Script, ServiceNow, and VMware vRA/vRO for automation and integration.
- Familiarity with JSON-based configuration and data exchange for interoperability across cloud and enterprise systems.
CONTRACT DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The following qualifications are desired for this position (candidates who possess these will be considered more competitive):
- Desired Certifications (Entry-Level or Foundational):
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or higher (e.g., Solutions Architect Associate)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or higher.
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent foundational cybersecurity certification.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
- VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA) or higher.
- GitLab Certified Associate or equivalent version control/Git-based certification.
- ITIL v4 Foundation (if not already required).
- Desired Tools and Technologies:
- Git-based workflows for version control, including GitLab for repository management and pipeline execution.
- Terraform for infrastructure as code and AWS resource provisioning.
- CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline).
- JavaScript development experience across multiple environments: Google Apps Script, ServiceNow scripting, and VMware vRA/vRO.
- Familiarity with JSON for configuration, automation, and data exchange.
- Awareness of modern cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure, for development and deployment activities.
- Productivity & Collaboration Tools:
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Chat, Meet, Docs, Slides, Sheets).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with Slack, ServiceNow, and other common collaboration platforms.
- Additional Desired Attributes:
- Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and participate in continuous learning to support modernization initiatives.
- Familiarity with Agile or DevSecOps development environments is a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The following are the education and experience required for this position:
- 10 - 15 years of experience and bachelor's degree
- Experience as a remote worker demonstrating time management and self discipline with cultural change management and Agile mindset.
