This is a long term contract with high possibility of full time conversion.
This position requires strong Fortinet experience.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship, not eligible for C2C employment.
This position requires frequent travel to Anchorage, AK on a monthly basis. Candidates must be willing and committed to frequent travel.
This position requires that candidates reside within the Pacific Time Zone.

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.

Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer with deep expertise in Fortinet network security solutions to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable network infrastructures, with a strong emphasis on Fortinet firewalls, SD-WAN, and security appliances.
Required Experience:
Must be an expert in Fortinet
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage Fortinet-based network security solutions including FortiGate firewalls, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiSwitch.
- Configure and maintain secure network architectures including VPNs, VLANs, routing, and switching.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
- Implement and manage Fortinet SD-WAN solutions across multiple sites.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and ensure secure connectivity.
- Maintain documentation of network configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Stay current with Fortinet product updates, security trends, and best practices.
- Participate in network audits, risk assessments, and compliance initiatives.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for network-related incidents and service requests.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Fortinet technologies.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with Fortinet firewalls, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiClient.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN, IPSec VPNs, and network segmentation.
- Fortinet NSE certifications (NSE 4 or higher) strongly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with other network vendors (Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper) is a plus.
- Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments.
- Scripting skills (Python, Bash) for automation and monitoring.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.).
